Description

Team Composition: Each team consists of 1 or 2 players (singles or doubles). In doubles, each player must alternate hitting the ball during the rally.

Match Duration: A standard match is played to the best of 3, 5, or 7 games. Each game is played to 11 points, and a player must win by at least 2 points. If the score reaches 10-10, the game continues until one player leads by 2 points.

Scoring: Points are awarded when the opponent fails to return the ball correctly, hits the ball out of bounds, or commits a fault (such as a double bounce). A point is also won if the opponent misses the serve or hits it incorrectly.

Service Rules: The server must toss the ball at least 16 cm above the table and serve it diagonally into the opponent’s side. In doubles, the serve must alternate between the right half of each player’s court. After every 2 serves, the serve changes sides.

Rally Rules: Players must return the ball after it bounces once on their side of the table. The ball must be hit with a paddle, and players are not allowed to touch the table with their free hand. A rally ends when one player fails to return the ball correctly.

Faults and Violations: A fault occurs if the ball is served incorrectly, fails to clear the net, or if a player touches the table with their free hand. A point is awarded to the opponent for any violation.
